ZELLIGE ARTCADE is a collaborative gaming platform serving cultural mediation. Six devices inspired by Moroccan zellige patterns, African textiles and Mediterranean heritage — free and remotely deployed across Morocco.
A zellige tile is the ancestor of the pixel. Moroccan maâlems were already manipulating grids, symmetries and combinatorics — prefiguring computer science five centuries before the screen. This platform extends that gesture by making the audience the author of a collective composition.
Beyond museum labels and guided tours. The audience handles, recomposes, experiments with heritage through play.
No game can be won alone. Synchronization, mutual help, listening — a metaphor for the digital campfire.
No app, no account, no skills required. A QR code, a smartphone, a white wall — anyone can play.
The pattern becomes a game mechanic. Geometry becomes interactive language. The screen becomes a gathering space.
Collaborative cartography of Casablanca. Audiences write the city's living memory together.
Generative composition with multiple players. The screen becomes the collective memory of a shared moment.
Collective creation of zellige patterns. Each smartphone places a tile; the artwork emerges together.
Digital weaving inspired by African textiles. Composition rhythmically driven by the audience.
Synchronized geometric cooperation. Multiplayer edition of the Istanbul Jumper device.
Collective recomposition of Mediterranean heritage. Athens edition of the cooperative device.
For museums, cultural foundations, libraries, youth centers, festivals and cultural associations across Morocco. International partnership inquiries also welcome.
